The system monitors:

  1.  The state of each set of door locks (Open or Closed) for:
    1. Top, Intermediate & Bottom for Front Doors
    2. Top, Intermediate & Bottom for Read or Side Doors
    3. Primary and Secondary Door Locks for Swing Doors
  2. The State of the Fire Service Phase 1 if required.
  3. The State of the Fire Service Phase 2.
  4. The State of the Door Open Limit as it relates to the Fire Service Operation.
  5. The State of the Door Close Limit.
  6. The car Gate Switches.
  7. The State of the Inspection Operation.
  8. The State of the Access Operation.
  9. The Door Zones.
  10. For internal relay failures.

The system also needs to connect into the circuits for:

  1. Inspection Operation.
  2. The Door Open Button.
  3. The Run Up and Run Down Relays or Outputs.
  4. The Door Open & Close Circuits.
  5. Controller Electrical Supplies.

In the case of serial communications being used to send information to the controller or when the controller is traveling with the car, wires for necessary monitoring will have to be run from the car to the motor room. This may require the addition of a new traveling cable if sufficient traveling cable spare wires are not available.

Multiple Door Panels (2 or 3 speed doors):

When there are two or three speed doors, the door close limit signal only shows the position of the leading panels. Should the relating cable system that controls the other panels become defective, the car could run with openings in the door due to the incomplete panel closure. We recommend in these cases to add a car-mounted system that monitors the positions of the additional door panels to ensure that the Door Close, Door Open Limit and Car Gate signals represent all the panels of the door. This system is not part of the Haven ECMS and comes complete from an outside source.

If Unintended Motion prevention is needed, the following will be required:

  1. Monitoring the drive sheave for motion with magnets and a sensor.
  2. Monitoring the status of the brake operation with independent micro switches,
  3. An additional circuit board-based controller unless the Haven ECMS was ordered with the said functionality incorporated into the main circuit board.
  4. Connections to operate the rope gripping device.
  5. Connections to monitor the rope gripping device.
